| After the court system had driven him into financial ruin, Kouvakas hired an attorney to handle his bankruptcy. Fearing that Bonaventura would send him further into debt in spite the bankruptcy protection of the law, Kouvakas was assured by his bankruptcy attorney that he need not worry since Bonaventura would be obligated to follow bankruptcy law. But, as usual, Bonaventura didn't let the law get in her way of her personal prejudices. She thumbed her nose at the bankruptcy law and added thousands of dollars to John's debt illegally and when he was unable to pay shortly thereafter, Bonaventura issued a Contempt of Court Citation and ordered his arrest. |
