"All the cards were marked in advance. The trial was a pig-circus, he never had a chance." - Bob Dylan, Hurricane
The Lake County Family Court is corrupt from top to bottom, and side to side. From illegitimate, gender-biased judges like Miller and Bonaventura, to lawyers who stall proceedings to run-up their fees--even to the detriment of their own clients--to sexist psychologists and DCFS (Department of Family Services) social workers whose primary job appears to be to cover-up any evidence that is detrimental to the mother. In both the Kirk and Kovakas cases, there were deliberate acts of cover-up of the facts and the hiding of evidence to protect the mommy. PEERgroup has received (anonymously, of course) several hours of audio tapes that prove this. The following clips from these tapes will give you a sense of the corruption in Bonavntura's court that John Kouvakas faced is his fight to rescue his son from the child's mother, Renee. Click on the tape reorder to listen to the audio clips. The tape quality is sometimes poor, so we've provided transcripts for you to read along as you listen. More clips will be posted in the near future, so check back often. Enjoy, and forward this page to a friend.
In John Kouvakas' case, Renee, the mother, loses control and attacks John's mother while she changes the baby. This happened at a hospital in Merrillville, Indiana. The head nurse who witnessed the attack initially reports the incident as assault and battery, but later when John's attorney attempts to get a copy of the report the nurse wrote, things had changed...what happened? In this clip, the Hospital's attorney explains... Attorney for Hospital: "And I think maybe what she [the head nurse who wrote the report] did, though, was she didn't want to get, you know, she didn't want to say anything that would, you know, get Renee in trouble."

This conversation is between John Kouvakas and case worker from DCFS. Here the case worker admits that all the doctors know there is "something wrong" with Renee's mental health, but they are deliberately withholding the truth... John: "Yeah, but you know...you're a case worker...you've been involved with Renee, you've seen there are problems with her... Case Worker: "Yeah, I do...I seen it. And you know I told you the doctor told me. He said "but its off the record ... [inaudible] and I'm not gonna be, ah, subpoenaed to court and I'm not going to testify. I know something's wrong with her, but I'm not gonna"...He said, I'm am NOT going to be the one. I'm like, What?. He said, I am not going to be the one... he said, I'm not, uh ...[inaudible]..." John: "All the doctors are upset with her." Case Worker: "Yeah" John: "You've talked to all the doctors and they're all upset with her." Case Worker: "Ok, like he [one doctor] said, he'd talk off the record...he'd tell me stuff 'off the record'...they tell me stuff 'off the record', but they said they'll never put in writing and they'll never testify to it."

John complains about the delays and apathy he has encountered. The case worker understands and shares some insight with John. The case worker knows where the blame lies. She points her finger right at the Honorable Judge Mary Beth Bonaventura... John: "Why, you know, why all this, you know...I mean I basically cry, I told everyone, "please, you know, help" and what did they do? No one did anything. That's the thing, you know.. Case Worker: "Well, you know what? I don't want to say nothin' about the judge [i.e., Judge Mary Beth Bonaventura] because I'm not supposed to, BUT, in my opinion this situation should not have been going on this long with this child going back and forth every week."

Mommy's live a privileged life in Lake County. Regardless of the danger emotionally abusive mothers pose to their own children; judges, doctors, social workers--the very people who's job it is to protect children--are protecting these abusive mothers instead of reporting the facts they uncover. This is professional misconduct and PEERgroup intends to expose those responsible. We will identify those doctors and social workers and post their names on our site as we prove their identities. And that won't take long. Check back often. John: "Yeah, but you even told me on the phone one time the even Cynthia Kambesis [Senior Attorney for Lake Department of Children and Family Services] knows that there's something wrong with Renee..." Case Worker: "They all know there's something wrong with her, but nobody's sayin'...[inaudible]...somethin's wrong, you know, everybody knows, but nobody's sayin'"
